PRINCE & PRINCESS OF WALES HOSPICE BUSINESS LUNCH
Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice's annual business lunch raises £6,500.
Eddie Bell, former Executive Chairman of the UK's largest and most profitable publishing company, Harper Collins, provided a humorous insight into his career as guest speaker at the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice's annual Business Lunch recently.
Held within the City Chambers and hosted by renowned Scottish broadcaster Angus Simpson. Eddie had the 250 Glasgow businessmen and women who attended the event - which raised £6,500 for the Hospice - in stitches as he outlined his rise to some of the most senior positions in Britain's publishing world over a 30 year period.
Sponsored by long-standing supporters Campbell Dallas, Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers. The Hospice's Business Lunch is one of the Glasgow charity's most popular events and has become a premier date in Scotland's corporate calendar. Annual running costs for the hospice reach £3.8 million each year of which £2.4 million must come from voluntary donations to maintain its current level of service.
Judi Farrell, Special Events Fundraiser for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice, said "We have enjoyed a long and happy association with Glasgow's business community and it is an honour to have business leaders of Eddie's influence and reputation helping us to achieve our goals each year. With their continued support we can continue to develop this relationship and deliver the best possible service for the people of Glasgow who need it the most. My thanks go to everyone who attended and contributed to helping us raise £6,500."
